the world. He has grown into a preacher, teacher, leader and activist who seeks to empower the lives of people

everywhere. Rev. Sims was the former District Coordinator (1993-1996) for the Young Adult Network, leading young

adults living in the northeastern United States and Bermuda in spiritual, economic and community development. In his                                  over two decades of ministry leadership, he has been a teacher, guest preacher and workshop facilitator in churches                                  and conferences across the United States and the world.

In 1997, he founded and pastored Victory Temple AME Church, which grew to over 500 members in a few short

years.  Sims has served as servant leader and Senior Pastor of Bethel A.M.E. church of Harrisburg, PA, leading that

historic congregation in the growth of membership, discipleship, economic development and civic engagement. In nearly three years at Bethel, Pastor Sims added new members, expanded ministries and strengthened the financial wellness of the ministry.  He is currently the Senior Pastor of Lee Memorial A.M.E. Church in Cleveland, Ohio.

His commitment to public engagement is attributed to his various abilities. In 2008 Micah Sims launched a weekly political and current affair syndicated radio talk show entitled “A New Day with Micah Sims”. In 2010 Micah moved to NBC10 as entertainment correspondent with an eventual move to WMCN-TV Philadelphia, where he served as the host and executive producer of a political news and lifestyle talk show ‘The Micah Sims Show’. Micah has been privileged to appear on numerous radio and cable shows across the country as a guest discussing politics, faith and current affairs.

In 2012, Micah served as Deputy Operation Vote Director of Obama for America Campaign in Pennsylvania. He oversaw initiatives and events across the commonwealth of Pennsylvania for three distinctive demographic groups - African Americans, Women and Faith Communities.

This incredible opportunity enabled Micah to build his own consulting firm in 2015. As the Senior Partner of the 155 Agency, based in Philadelphia, Pa., he managed four campaigns from statewide to congressional candidates in 2016. During the heated presidential election in 2016, he worked as the Outreach and Faith Director for the nationwide PAC “For Our Future”. In 2017, he created a premiere judicial campaign roster in 2017, including Judge Dwayne Woodruff for PA Supreme Court and Judge Carolyn Nichols for PA Superior Court.

Presently, Micah Sims has been selected as the new State Executive Director of Common Cause Pennsylvania. This nonpartisan advocacy organization has been at the forefront of several statewide initiatives including fair districting, campaign financing and ethics reform. The goal of Common Cause, with 35,000 members, is to create open, honest, and accountable government that serves the public interest; promote equal rights, opportunity, and representation for all; and empower all people to make their voices heard in the political process. Micah looks forward to the opportunity to utilize his talent, experience and energy to impact Pennsylvania and the country.

He attended Villanova University for undergraduate studies and Lancaster Theological Seminary for a graduate degree work in pastoral theology and divinity. Micah is a lifetime member of NAACP and member of the executive committee of NAACP PA State Conference, member of American Political Science Association and serves on several boards on the local and state level.
